I was in a local Apple premium reseller today (that's about the closest we get to an Apple store over here in Belgium) to buy an EyeTV Hybrid.

The employee told me they don't have any devices left in stock because the store was told there's a new, updated EyeTV Hybrid coming soon.

Is this true?

If so, does anyone know any new features? And when will this be available?
So ... is it worth waiting?

Thanks in advance

Well it is getting close to 2009. Elgato seems to do a yearly refresh for the next year.

From Elgato's website:-

New EyeTV hardware is slimmer and more feature rich than ever

Munich, July 15th, 2008 – Elgato announces the next generation of its TV stick product line. The new models of EyeTV Hybrid, EyeTV Diversity and EyeTV DTT introduce a matte aluminium finish, and each of the three products gain new features or functionality. These new TV sticks follow the EyeTV DTT Deluxe, which was recently added to the product range.

EyeTV Hybrid
The EyeTV Hybrid has had a major overhaul and now has a raft of new capabilities, offering a unique mix of features. The Hybrid now includes FM radio, which can be recorded in the same way as TV. It supports both DVB-T and DVB-C. Plus analogue TV, and analogue input, which means it can be used to connect cable or satellite receivers, archive video from old analogue media, or record live from gaming consoles.

Although this press release was back in July and they were supposed to be available in August.

So what exactly does the elgato website http://www.elgato.com/elgato/int/mainmenu/home.en.html mean when it says "New" sticks then?

The Diversity is new this year but that's the 2008 Hybrid that came out in late 2007.
The press release for the updated EyeTV Hybrid INT is dated 15th July 2008 with availability in August.

I was taking a look around the site and came to a page showing all the Hybrids and how to tell them appart.
How do I setup the EyeTV Hybrid with my Mac and video source? (http://support.elgato.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=1087)

It also mentions on that page that a newer version of the Hybrid International was released. Maybe only the North American one was updated previously (late 2007).
In July of 2008, a newer version of the EyeTV Hybrid INT was released.
