I was looking at getting a new MacBook, but I see on the apple site you can't upgrade to a 7200rpm hard drive. I was wondering if anyone knew if I buy a new MacBook and replace the hard drive myself does this void the warranty at all?
Thanks!

nope not at all
just grab one off newegg or something and do it yourself. wont void warranty as its a user replaceable part

Apple designed the hard drive on the new MacBooks to be easily upgraded. It will not void the warranty.

This should go as common sense, but the warrant is not voided, but your HD that you put into the computer will not be covered under the 1 year MF warranty...
I know, common sense, but just wanted to throw it out there. This is the same for RAM also...
