apple lcd cinema display compatibility w/ older macbooks

I have a White MacBook 2.16 Ghz from a year ago and I am thinking about buying the new lcd cinema display. Will the Mini DisplayPort cables that come with the display connect to my older mac? Or am i going to have to go out and buy an adapter?

Of course you would have to get some sort of adapter, since only the new MacBooks have DisplayPort connectors. But I'm not even sure a DVI to mini-DisplayPort adapter exists. Yeah, you can get a mini-DisplayPort => DVI adapter, but I haven't yet seen anything that goes the other way.
