First, I'm not sure how "kosher" this topic is. If it's not, I guess delete it.

I want to start downloading Torrents on my MacBook but I have no idea how or where to start.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Begin repeat of yet another tread about BitTorrent..

BitTorrent is just a protocol or a method of data transmission. It can be used for legal or illegal purposes, but there are many legitimate uses for it.

Examples:

1) Updating Ubuntu.

2) Downloading Linux ISOs such as Ubuntu

3) Downloading content that is in the public domain or that is freely available such as game updates. (Search Google)

I'll let someone more knowledgeable in OS X BitTorrent clients answer specifically, but not everything is copyright infringement. :p

Why is this in the Apple TV forum?

Anyway, Transmission is the best torrent application on the Mac in my opinion. It is lightweight and works perfectly for me. Just takes ages to quit.
