I just got my new alu macbook today. When I go to open iChat it bounces a few times and then doesn't do anything. Does anyone know what the problem is?

try this:
open finder from your dock, open your home folder (it should go there automatically), open the library folder, then the preferences folder. you'll see a lot of files that say com.apple.something.plist. drag all of the files that com.apple.ichat.plist (there should be about 4 or 5 of them) to your desktop. then try opening ichat.
