I've made the switch to a Macbook to be my primary machine and at this exact moment my only working machine. How can I preserve my music and videos on my iPhone and make sure they don't get wiped? Oddly enough I have clicked the sync button in iTunes and nothing happens, I have some newly downloaded podcasts that I'd like on my iPhone. I also want to make sure the handful of purchased content that I have does not dissapear from the iPhone, the rest of the stuff I have backed up for sure.

I ended up figuring out what I needed to do. Originally didn't see it on Apple site but I found the FAQ about transferring purchases.

I too have an iphone, currently syncing to a desktop PC, which I'd like to migrate to syncing with my new MacBook Pro.
I already copied all my music and video to my new macbook. External hard drives work just fine, thank you very much.
I am not terribly worried about my contacts and calendar. (a) They're still on my PC if they get synced into oblivious, and (b) I'm given to understand that the synchronization for these is two way.
I'm not even that worried about my iphone applications. I have a lot of them, but purchased is purchased. I've authorized both the mac and the PC for the same itunes account, so with a bit of fiddling, there really shouldn't be that much of a problem.
What I am worried about is my iphone application data. The preferences from my games. The statistics from my favorite solitaire collection. The bookmarks from my ebook reader. The downloaded ebooks from my other ebook reader.
Does anyone know where this stuff is backed up on the PC and where I should copy it onto the mac so that it'll be included in the next sync, or at least not erased?
Thank you!
