Installed Final Cut, and now my superdrive won´t work?

I installed Final Cut and after the reboot my SuperDrive won´t work anymore? WTF?

It spins up just fine and stuff, it just doesn´t do anything. :( I´ve tried all kinds of discs.

OK, so this is the list of things I´ve tried:

Clearing NVRam and PMU
Booting to singleuser, running fsck
Entering openfirmware, resetting stuff there
Archive and install
Repair filesystem
Repair Disk
Checking all kinds of links

Still no go.

I´ve discovered a disk error which disk repair couldn´t fix. So now I´m backing up 60GB to reformat. I thought Mac didn´t do this! :( Must be me and my luck.
