It's hidden away under International in the system preference pane

I think you want Keyboard Viewer, which you already have. In System Preferences, click International, then Input Menu, then select the checkbox next to Keyboard Viewer. Choose Show Keyboard Viewer from the input menu on the right side of the menu bar (looks like a flag). You can use it like Keycaps or you can leave it open and watch it pretend to type as you use the real keyboard.

Did you do an upgrade to Panther? On a clean install, Keycaps goes missing.

Here's the catch. I did a clean install format reinstall etc.. But I have multiple internal drives that I can backup to. I CC'd my drive to another one and then formatted my system drive. Then I copied my apps back over the ones I didn't reinstall from the disks that is. So it's probably a leftover from 10.2 but it works fine.

Cool, I used to use key caps quite a bit under OS 9 so it was odd to me that they seemed to completely get rid of it when I upgraded.
