Battery indicator on touch 2g

If my touch 2g goes down to 10% charge and I plug it in to charge and the battery is red. After only 30 minutes of being charged the battery is then completely green.

Has any other 2g owner discovered this with their 2g? How can the calibration be so out?

I've noticed it goes to almost fully charged pretty quickly, but then the last 10-20% takes a while longer.

I read somewhere on the Apple website, they call it a fast charge which is the first 80%, which takes around an hour or something, and then the full charge that goes to 100% takes about 2 more hours on that.
