being a mac veteran i have always ran a partition on my main drive. one for system, one as scratch, and one as a work/misc drive (for files only).
mainly because of fragmentation and if my system partition went bad i could usually mount my work drive to pull any files.
that being said, the longer i use os x the more i like the way the home folder operates, and think it would be easier to just use a single partition for system (with a work folder in my home folder) and do a 3gig scratch disk partition.
I am on a 1ghz superdrive Ti powerbook.
have any of you other graphics professionals/heavy users done this transition, or do you still think it wise to keep the partition.
now since i have a scheduled back-up to firewire drive, i feel it may actually be more convenient to have all my files on one disc...
thanks for any input!
