I'm trying to decide on an external monitor for my MacBook that I'm getting next week. My budget is <$700. I looked at a 25.5" samsung that looked nice, but I'm wondering about going up to a 32" tv. Dell has a 1080p vizio. Would the quality be that much less on the vizio? The further under $700 the better obviously

If you can stretch a hair, I saw the Dell 30" monitor on sale for $800 last week or so. I think it might have been a refurb, but I believe their refurbs are pretty good.

That would give the OP the privilege of waiting a month to purchase a $99 DisplayPort adapter to use with his new MacBook.

I use a Samsung T260HD (25.5") and it is a very nice monitor that doubles as an excellent 1080p TV, I'd highly recommend it.

Freewayjim,

That's the exact monitor I was looking at. Saw it for $460. I'm leaning towards it, but if the display would still look nice on the Vizio, I would go up to that size. It's $200 more.
