Hey is it worth it to pay an extra $150.00 for 50gbs extra hard drive, .1ghz extra processor, and 512mb for video instead of 256?

This is of course for a Macbook Pro, the previous generations model.
These are the specs for the more expensive one:

Part Number: FB134LL/A
2.5GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
2GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB
250GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm
SuperDrive 8X (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
MacBook Pro 15-inch Widescreen Display
Backlit Keyboard (English) / User's Guide

Cheeper specs:

Refurbished MacBook Pro 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
15.4-inch glossy widescreen display
2GB memory
200GB hard drive
8x SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256MB of GDDR3 memory
Built-in iSight Camera
(but not glossy screen)

please someone give me an opinion!

Ian

My general advice would be to buy the best machine you can afford to buy, but in truth, that will depend on your own computing needs (which you have not mentioned; what will you be using this computer for? What will you msinly do with it? Do you really need/want all of the extras, or simply think they might be useful?) Both machines are excellent computers - I have a MBP myself and I'm very happy with it, it's the best computer I have ever had.

Cheers and good luck

For the extra video memory alone, I would pay that price.

I'm a cheapass, but I think the step up is worth the $150 for sure.

the key difference with the 2.5 vs. the 2.4 is that you get 6Mb L2 cache vs. 3Mb

Good call there. I would say thats worth the $150 just as much as those other things put together.
