Argh, so not just the gray horizontal lines spanning across the screen. Now the case is making a loud creaking noise when resting my right palm to the right of the trackpad.

Anyone else seeing this or do I just have a fu**ed up MBA? I can reproduce the problem easily if I squeeze the top and bottom of the case around the right of the trackpad with thumb pressing from the top and other fingers holding the bottom.

GRRRRRRR

Sounds defective to me. I suggest getting a exchange or refund.

+1,000,000 Whining here in the forums won't fix your machine. Calling Apple and/or going to a store will.

Yep, gonna take it in today to get it replaced. Just letting others know that the new MBA isn't as perfect as everyone says it is, although I would have to agree that things are much better than the previous revision.

"i had a problem" and "there is a problem" are not the same thing. Isolated QC issues occur with every rev of every model of every piece of electronics ever made.

The computer is covered by Apple's warranty, so get it seen to by Apple and repaired/replaced as is your right under consumer protection law and Apple's own warranty. Let us know what happens.

Cheers and good luck

Just making sure everyone sees this; as we've all known for, oh, over a decade.

Thats not a major defect on ALL macs. It must have some other defect you will find 1 in a million. When people say its really good, they of course are referring to the ones that don't have internal problems from manufacturing. :)
Just getting that straight.
