I am tempted to try the Magic Eraser on my white Macbook. I am a little concerned about water getting in the keys and other openings around the trackpad, etc. I read that if the eraser isn't moist then it doesn't clean well. I need to use it on the keys and the palm rests. How much water is too much? It is a large investment that I had rather not destroy

I have used a Magic Eraser successfully on the area surrounding the track pad. I wrung it out nearly dry and it worked perfectly. I assume in this condition it will work well on the keys as well, just be sensible about it and you'll be fine.

you just have to mind that no liquid can go into your macbook - watch out for problem area's like the bezel/ screen surround - the slot drive - the frame around the keyboard etc... and the apple logo on the top itself -
Mine is in the shop for water damage/ goo gone damage - fluid removal and a new superdrive - gonne cost about 300 bucks :*(
cheaper than apple store though.

be advised that the magic eraser is slightly abrasive. I don't know if it would scratch the macbook or not, but I'd never try it.

LOL.
Are you trying to get water out? Or cleaning it? Can't you just take the keys off?
