Cannot get mail from Outlook

My Yahoo mail comes OK. However, my iPhone will not get my Outlook mail. I have set up the mail account but get this error message "Connection to the server failed". I assume this means the phone is working Ok and the problem is with our work server, but my IT folks don't know what to do. Anyone experience this or have a suggestion? Thanks.
