Basically I need to get a 9-4pin firewire cable for my MBP and I was just curious whether or not the brand of the wire is important (as some more popular brands may have better products).

I was looking at this on amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000OYZ2VY), and it saves me about $7, which isn't a ton, but might as well if there is no difference in quality of product.

Anyone know?

Also anyone know where I might find a cheap one in stores?

The cable in the link looks fine.

Personally I prefer the thick clear cables with silver metal braiding, they look nice when I've got 3 of them plugged into my FW HD and camera.

I've also used the FW cable that came with my iSight for a laptop-external HD connection, and it's worked perfectly fine, even though it's thread thin, and just seems too delicate.
