Have I gone nutz...I cant seem not to pass up an apple upgrade....
i upgraded to the new macbook, from an old white macbook (Core Duo)...
now i want to upgrade from the 1g touch (16gig) to the 2g touch....
is there any reason to upgrade...i really just want the speaker for an alarmclock...but thats an expensive alarm clock...
anyone else make this upgrade and think its worth it...i dont even know how much the 1g 16giger goes for?

The 1G 16GB will have been the price that the 2G 32GB model is now.
I upgraded and I really, really like the 2nd gen. There isn't much to say, but the volume controls come in really handy and I tend to use the inbuilt speaker to play music rather than opening iTunes now.

I don't see the point in upgrading unless there is something fatally wrong with the old one. That is why I haven't upgraded my white MacBook which I think looks pretty cool and classic. I still have an iTouch 1G and it does everything I want it to except the odd occasion with showing a new song to a friend or something. But pressing the home button twice when playing a song brings the fast forward/play/pause/backward buttons as well as a volume slider on the home screen. Just my 2 cents.

If you're upgrading to the 2G just for the alarm clock, then yes, I think you've gone nuts ;).

I couldnt wait to get rid of my 1g 32gb and get a 2g 32gb
The moment the new one came out I felt like I wasn't cutting edge anymore. I love having the latest and greatest....bring on 3rd generation !!!

You could sell it and buy the new one but it's not all that different...

If the speaker is worth the $220+ then go for it. For me it was not. Sure it would be nice to have, but not at that cost. My 1G works great.

I have an iPhone 3G. Used to have an iPod touch 1G but I sold it when the iPhone came out.

I assume you got my post was a joke. If I didn't feel the same way as you, I wouldn't be sitting in front of an iMac with an iPod Touch charging off to the side. :p:D
