Help!

While backing up lots of files and deleting stuff ready to sell my Powermac G4 running OS X.2.8 I must have deleted something I shouldn't have.
Now neither Safari or Explorer will download any files. Even from the Apple site. When I click on the download links the page simply reloads instead of starting the download. I had to download Backup through Limewire even though I have a .mac account.

Anyone know what I might have deleted and how I can get it back?
Any suggestions much appreciated :)

Definitely if you are planning on selling it you should do a low level format and reinstall the system. Any other way you do it someone could use a program to scan unused parts of the drive and potentially recover personal data about you.
