trying to use other sites "methods", including trying to get my 2 g iphone up and running through windows processes after the mac ones came up short...this walk through:

helped me immensely. there are details there, steps to take, that are missing from instructions "elsewhere"... small wonder people are having so many difficulties...they just need to read well and follow along with attention to detail...
