Typically, no - I usually go first thing when I wake up before feeding the dog and kitty, then I take a shower once all that is done --- so I really don't have to go anymore at that point.

I used to, though. On days when my ritual is broken I would consider it. It's terrible to have to hold it through a hot shower. Peeing after always makes me shiver!

This thread should be a sticky for anyone considering meeting another member offline whereby they may find themselves spending a lot of time with one another and having to actually use the shower.

I do not pee in the shower. I shower in the shower and pee in the toilet. I find it good form to pee before I shower, pee in the toilet. I simply don't think peeing takes so much time that one would find the need to consolidate tasks.

Urine is sterile. :D

Quote from the OP's link:
According to medical reports published online, urinating in the shower can have its helpful effects, but is not encouraged. It can aid in the treatment of Athlete's Foot and genital Herpes. Also, the sound of a shower has been found in some people to actually trigger a psychological response to physically relieve oneself. University Health Services said it was unable to find actual evidence supporting any benefits to urinating in the shower.

I used to all the time - 'Course, I guess I was more juvenile at the time since I'd aim for stuff and what not. If I do now it's a very rare occasion, truthfully..

Nov 9, 2008, 05:37 PM
Yup :o

But it's a fairly powerful shower so any fluids are washed away instantly and I always aim for the drainage hole. And I'd never do it in anyone else's shower. Or if the boiler breaks and it becomes a trickle.

Gotta be picky.

You're talking to the girl who washes her hands while in the shower, than washes them again while she's getting ready :p. My bathroom mirror is pretty clean too, I still refuse to wipe them with my hands when they're foggy.

Ok yea peeing in the pool is pretty nasty. My cousin used to joke that the reason the kiddie pool is so warm is because all the kids pee in it. Once a kid actually took a crap in the pool, and they had to close down the kid pool and drain all the water .

Nov 9, 2008, 06:29 PM
Sure. Why the hell not? :)

Part of the reason is, I live in a building that dates back from the 1800's, and apparently, back then, the norm here was... having the toilet in its own 3x3 ft. room, separate from the actual bathroom, with the sink and the bathtub inside.

That would make it inconvenient to not pee while showering, if I ever had the urge. I'd have to walk from the bathroom to the toilet/room and back, potentially exposing raw nekkidness™ along the way, to people in the kitchen, the hallway, people outside windows in either of those rooms etc.

But... then again, I'm lazy as well, so... ;)

Yep, I do. I think I even remember Madonna saying years ago that she did (and something about curing athletes foot?).

How many of you guys do the housework and clean the shower? ;)

I clean them (and everything else). I even go as far as bleaching them once a week.

(edit, I found the Madonna reference)

Dave: Oh, jeez, we're out of time again. [laughter] What are you going to do now? What are you going to do after the show?
Madonna: Did you know that it's good if you pee in the shower?
Dave: I'm sorry?
Madonna: I'm serious! [crowd reacts uncomfortably] No, seriously, peeing in the shower is really good. It ... it fights, um, um, athlete's foot. I'm serious, no, urine is like, is like ... is like an antiseptic. It's all got to do with the enzymes in your body.
Dave: Don't ... don't you know a good pharmacist? [laughter]
Madonna: Ummm ...
Dave: Get yourself some Desenex! Or whatever that stuff is.
Madonna: I wanted to share something that I knew with you.
Dave: Okay, well, thank you very much. Ah, I'm going to try to wrap this up.

As for me...as I've lived in the college dorm and shared a shower space with ~20 other guys for the past couple of years I've been taking advantage of 1] The curtain divided stalls (we didn't have dividers in boarding school) 2] the fact the school cleans the bathrooms daily. Unfortunately I've been conditioned to the point where I have to pee really badly upon entering the shower...

I also do other shower multi-tasking, such as shampooing, peeing and sipping beer at the same time, should I be showering before going out. Ah, college life.

I interpreted yes as people who do it whenever they shower, or at least whenever they felt like peeing when they're showering. The sometimes people are the ones who only do it when they can't hold it, or rarely feel the urge to pee while showering.

I don't understand why people are so afraid of pee hitting their feet. I'm not a fan or a fetisher or anything, but it's not very dirty, and it doesn't make cleaning the shower or bathroom any more difficult, unsanitary, or disgusting. If you're happy to clean a toilet that's been used for the "other" thing, cleaning a shower that a person has pissed in certainly isn't so bad.

Of course. Out of all the times and places I have to pee, in the shower is the most "liberating." Just... let it out. There's no holding a fly open, pants up, aiming at a toilet, or etc. Just letting gravity work naturally.

I was in the shower once with my girlfriend. We started talking about peeing in the shower. She said she does it, too. Then she wanted to watch me pee in the shower... I have a shy bladder in general, but that took it to a whole other level.

Living with 6 other blokes for the last year I can honestly say that it is not a pretty habit. When the bathroom isn't cleaned as regularly as it should it really becomes apparant that is not something that should be done at all.

where is the option on the poll for "pees into jars for safekeeping.":

That is gross, I watched a show called Taboo and one of them had people that drank their own pee because they thought it was good for them.

This thread is so funny, of course we all pee in the shower, it's human nature,
especially first thing in the morning, as jamesarm97 noted it must be good for you, my dog's always got his nose in the shower tray drinking the remains of my morning shower , can't taste too good, not long after he is usually licking his b@lls to get rid of the taste....................

But I just don;t get it. It's not as if you're drinking water out fo the tub.

But when a hurricane or natural disaster is heading toward you - for those that stay - the FIRST thing CNN will tell you is to fill your bath tub full of water - so you have a fresh source or drinking water. ;)

ha ha ha. that sir made my day. thank you very much.

do we have an agreement, that everybody that said "yes" are guys?

i chose "sometimes", because sometimes, there are times when you are so stressed and you can't plan and say, ok, get up, then pee, then shower.

i must admit, i slept in this hotel/motel place one time and the toilet was so disgusting... in the middle of the night i just had to go and i had to do it on the wash basin.

i think i do it out of necessity.

btw. do we have a count on how many female forum members said they do it?

Given that about the only disaster we might have here is a tornado, I'm not too concerned. Besides, If national disaster was on it's way and you were going to fill your tub with water to drink, wouldn't you clean the tub first anyway? Just sayin'... ;)

Why bother??

If the shower was running while you were having a wiz, it will be virtually gone.

If not, it will be massively diluted by a tub full of cold water.

Worry about your ass from the tornado/hurricane first. :p

I do when I have to (I don't make a ritual out of it or anything); but... I do make sure that it is only going directly into the drain. I think I can understand why there's a bunch of people saying no. A lot of people's showers don't drain properly, because of an accumulation of hair, mucous, and god knows what. And it's more likely to be showers that girls use, since their longer hair clogs easier. In that case, peeing in the shower would probably be pretty gross. Also, women's bodies are more likely to entail the pee running down their legs and feet. Sure, it's being rinsed off right away, but I can understand some people being squeamish about that.

But as a guy, living alone, who washes his own tub, and maintains the drainage properly, most of these negative factors just don't exist. In my case, I do it every single morning, not just because it feels good, but as part of a ritual, that I think is healthier than not doing it. After washing privates with soap, I think it's good to flush things out, to avoid irritation from the soap chemicals.

I also do other shower multi-tasking, such as shampooing, peeing and sipping beer at the same time, should I be showering before going out. Ah, college life.

But if you're preparing to go out and peeing while drinking that first beer, doesn't that break the seal and force you to go more often as the evening progresses?

Do you guys have some sort of insta hot shower? I turn the shower on in the morning and end up going while I wait for it to warm up enough to step in. If the sound of running water got to me, I'd explode before I got to pee in the shower since there seems to be about 3 miles of plumbing in my house between the hot water heater and the showers.

No, but it may be running down my leg, dripping on my feet, or mixing with the water that I'm standing in. Especially in my tub, everything seems to go backwards first before going forward to the drain, at least that's what happens with hair. I don't want the pee to touch me, swish around the tub, before finally going down the drain. Plus, what would I use to wipe? My hands? Another no no :p.

Unless you wash down the toilet bowl and surrounding area everytime you pee then doing it in the shower is actually cleaner.

Assuming you're peeing down the drain with the shower on as opposed to peeing up the door with the shower off.:D

Put it this way if you had to lick an area would you choose the bottom of the shower were it gets washed down or the floor surrounding the toilet were you get all sorts of splashback and drips.:p

So you pee in the shower cause you are a clean freak?

uhm...okay.

Because of fluid dynamics, when peeing regularly, there's misting and sprayback effects, even just at a microscopic level. Hence why we wash our hands after. But most people don't wash their actual private parts after peeing. But I do, in the shower. Think of it less in terms of peeing or not in the shower, and more that you're going to pee, so do you want to be rinsed off or not.

A friend of mine even has a device on his toilet that makes it act like a bidet, so he can get washed off, every time.

Heey -- that makes sense.

I'm a germophobe myself, and I notice if I pee in the toilet, sometimes droplets bounce back, onto my skin. Kind of makes me uneasy. And now, that you've mentioned this, having it verbalized on a forum, I've kind of become more aware of this fact. I guess I should say thanks, kind of reconciled how "germophobe" and "shower-peeing" can exist at the same time in the same person. So, uh, thanks :)

Nothing beats that lean feeling, but if it warshes everything off it's got to be one strong stream to reach that high when you're standing at the toilet. Or do I mistakenly assume that the majority of guys stand whilst they take a leak?

Sending urine down the drain is taboo, yet sending your bodily filth, slime and whatever assorted bits of human scum you wash off yourself is OK? The way I see it, a shower is nothing more than a toilet for your whole body. If it can be washed down the drain, it's fair game! :D If you insist on keeping things squeaky-clean, just keep your messes off the walls or the other places where the soap and water can't wash it away.

This poll really should have been a public one

As I voted in the yes, why get out of the shower to take a wizz when it goes to the same place - down the drain. Of being a guy, there's a huge advantage for us, they we can basically go where ever needed. Behind a truck, or a tree, in a shower etc.

Could be worse - my 3 year old has discovered how much fun it is to come and pee in the bath whilst I'm having a soak or a shower.

I keep an eye on the door these days :+}

What guy doesn't pee in the shower? It's like asking what guy doesn't pee in the bushes if there's no toilet around.

Of course not. I'm a girl which means I don't pee, poop or pass gas.

This poll should definitely have included gender in the polling. Then we could have gotten some more interesting statistics/information.

My four year old son pees in the shower and is quite gleeful about doing so. "Train em right" is what I say. :D That's probably a clue as to how I voted.

1) Urine is sterile
2) Urea makes a good cleaning agent
3) It all goes the same place
4) Wives don't complain when you leave the shower door open, but God forbid you leave the toilet seat up!

Just sayin'

They have these shower buildings in tent city (military deployed locations). Well the Army guys will storm the Air Force shower Cadillac and do just that.....drop a few grumpy's off in the showers for some poor unsuspecting Air Force guy. Beware the phantom dumper. Sorry to be disgusting.....

I enjoy peeing in the shower. Anything to cut a minute or so off of my "getting ready" in the morning time.

I don't hold a candle to my buddy though. He was berated for one night of drinking, for the remaining three years of college. We were living together our Sophomore year, 4br/4ba apartment. I wake up after a late night of partying to a girl screaming "Oh my god."

Kenny had apparently taken her to her to his room and done the deed. Afterwards, he somehow ended up in his shower. While in the shower, he had found a way to **** at the end where he feet were located in the morning. She walked in to go to the bathroom that next morning, saw that, freaked out, and started screaming.

He will NEVER...EVER live that down. I can't wait until he gets married and I have to give a groomsman's speech.
