Macbook does not wake up form Sleep mode?!

Hi friends -

I am a new Mac guy so please help me on this.

I keep my Macbook in sleep mode most of the time. It wakes up almost all the time but some time it does not wake up from the sleep at all.

I hit any keys randomly, I open and close screen etc but it does not work.

Eventually, I use Power button to switch it off and then switch it on.

Now is this a common problem or some serious issue. Is there any other way to wake up my Macbook (using some key combination) etc.

By the way I have 2.4 Ghz new aluminium Macbook.

Since I see you can replicate the issue, take it to the Genius Bar in this state. Let them deal with it. There have been so many threads about this issue, that I think some MacBooks may be affected.

The alternative is call AppleCare and explain to them the situation.

Either way, you will get help.
