How To Track Cell Phones

Does anybody know how to track cell phones? I lost my cell phone and I would like to trace it...
 
Ditto on calling your service provider. But also try calling it (if it's not dead) I lost a phone a Year or so ago, called the number the next morning and was suprised to hear an elderly gentlemen said he found it, I got it back the day after.
