COD4 for Mac Custom Maps and Mods?

I'm working thru the issue of whether I should buy COD4 for Mac or for PC (via bootcamp) and I was wondering if the Mac version supports custom (i.e. community-created) maps and mods.
Is this the case? Are they downloaded on the fly as you join a server?

Yep, but I have not been able to get them to work yet, but I have also not spent a lot of time with it yet either.
