Problem with iBook Combo Drive

Hello there,

I'm having problems burning CD-R's. I have a 14" G3 iBook 700MHz with 10.2.8. When I try to burn an audio CD in I tunes I get:

"! The device drained it's buffer without burn underrun protection"

When I try to burn a data CD in through the finder I get:

"Sorry, the operation could not be completed because an unexpected error occured (error code 6)"

Any thoughts? Thanks for your help!

Have you tried burning at a slower speed (even 1x to start off with)?

Yup, tried that - it didn't seem to make a difference. I get the error messages after the initializing, when it starts to write to the disc.

Might it be a hardware problem?
