Superdrive: horrible clunking, crunching sound

New Alu Macbook user.

Question about the Superdrive, it won't gobble up the cd untill there's like 1 cm left sticking out, and then it makes a horrible clunking, crunching sound when eating it! Is that normal? I mean, I know they are hella noisy, but wow, it doesn't sound good at all...

That sounds a bit weird, this was a normal sized CD right?
