I have some footage shot in 24p on a Canon HV20. I found this article on Apple's support pages (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2410?viewlocale=en_US) that instructs you on how to properly capture 24p footage using Final Cut Pro. Could I follow the same procedure using FCE instead of FCP?
FCE can't edit 24P... you will need FCP. Don't try removing the pull-down after, it will not work if there are any transitions or effects applied in FCE.

Perhaps when and if Apple decides to release a newer version of FCE, they'll include 24p support, in addition to AVCHD. I don't think a simple software update would allow for 24p, although I could be wrong. In general it just seems that Apple has let slip it's Pro Application support, in favor of other things, ie. iPhone, iPod, etc.
