I add an event to my ical on my home computer and I say I want a message only, no alarm. I sink it to iPhone with MobileMe and even though I have asked for message only, no alarm, the iPhone's iCal decides to make an alarm any way. I just want the message to come up with no noise.

It is possible to do this with the ringer switch to the "no sound position", but I want no alarm as per my original iCal input regardless of that no ringer switch). Any one know what I should do? Thanks!

The iPhone doesn't differentiate between different types of alerts in iCal. It treats them all the same, AFAIK.

You can, however, globally suppress sound for calendar alerts on the iPhone by Settings -> Sounds -> Calendar Alerts -> off.
