Best Speakers for me?

I know its been talked about allot but what are the best speakers for me.

I will be hooking them up to My iMac (see sig)

I am considering these:

I've heard they're great 5.1 speakers, but whether or not you want 5.1 is your call. These (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121122) and these (http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=klipsch+promedia&cid=9124231077149922577#ps-sellers) are really good 2.1's.

Save yourself $150 and try the Audioengine 2's. Plus, you can use them with your macbook, iPod, iPhone, etc. Be sure and checkout the Stereophile review of them.

they look nice but no sub

If you don't think that you need the 5.1 check out the logitech z-2300 which are the 2.1 version of those speakers and are a great set of speakers.

Here's another vote for the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 set. I've owned Logitech 5.1's, I've owned JBL's, and I've owned Bose, but nothing beats Klipsch. You will be blown away by this system. Hurry though, they've been discontinued, so they're getting tough to find.

i was thinking about getting a 5.1 speaker system but theyre only really good if you have a lot of space to put them, listen to 5.1 audio a lot and play games that have surround sound.

my sister's boyfriend is a sound engineer and DJ and i asked him if surround sound speakers where better when listening to his Rokit 2.0 monitors connected to his turntables and iMac and he said "nah" 2 channels is all you need for music.

monitors are too pro for me and i want a sub so im deciding between the Logitech Z-2300s, Klipsch Pro Media 2.1s or the Blue Sky EXOs. these are all VERY good 2.1 systems and im probably going to go for the EXOs as the Z-2300s dont have tweeters for the highs and the Klipschs look a bit outdated.

I listen to everything except country I am a Audiophile and i just dont like the iMac speakers for listening to rap and Classical music

I mostly listen to rock which sounds fine but Rap and Classical sound like crap
The room i am in is like our study or something (its not an office its downstairs and the office is upstairs) any way its like 17 by 20 but my Desk is in the corner.

i have a pair of tannoy reveal studio monitors and tannoy sub....

depends if you want to use the speakers for other means too, like connecting to a home cinema system or just purely for use with the mac.

get the z-5500 at jandr.com for $265...if you live in ny you can pick it up yourself from their store like i did..
i got them 2 years ago and costed $225..i dont know why the price has gone up on them:confused:

I cannot say enough about the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers. Stunningly clear audio all the way from rumbling bass through piercing highs, plenty loud, THX certified. They can be had for around $85-90 shipped.

And as far as 2.1 vs 5.1 is concerned, unless you're using the speakers in primarily a home theater environment (read: watching movies), then 2.1 is the better choice in terms of the content you'll be playing back and the price / performance ratio.
