A great free product has reached its end of life.
Mike Bombich has a good story about NetRestore's birth, and the subsequent reason(s) for ending it.

Never heard of this software, but now I am glad I have it! Shame it was discontinued!

Word on the street is Apple are buying it/taking control of it along with Boot Picker.Considering how much documentation is on Apple Education I'm not surprised.
It's sad to see NetRestore go since I got a large chunk of my OS X administration and deployment experience with it before my job coughed up the cash for an OS X Server.
DeployStudio looks like a good successor product.

Speaking with Education Systems Engineers at Apple, Apple are very aware of the large user base of NetRestore.
Boot Picker is already on the Apple Education page:

People I've spoken to at Apple fully expect Apple to offer the app or roll it into 10.6 server.
