I'm very happy with how quiet my system has been even with 100% CPU taxed for days on end. But it's strange how my fans usually run at >1000rpm all the time except for my DRIVE BAY fan always stays at a constant 1000RPM. I've seen it go up a fraction to like 1004 once when I was doing a lot transfering from my old HDDs to my new ones.

Is that fan supposed to fluctuate like the others or is it a constant? I've dusted out my system and made sure to clean/wipe off all the temp zone sensors too. Thanks.

From my experience with a DP 2.7 G5, the drive bay fans have 1000 rpms as a minimum speed- but when the room heated up on warm/hot days that speed would increase to a maximum of 4000 rpm. Disk activity itself did not seem to affect it much or any- it was the ambient temperature of the room that caused the increase.

The drive bay is normal. Your slots and backside are abnormally low.

Here is mine.

OK, Thanks you two. :)

I do wonder why that they have that one set at a minimum 1000 though?

Mine too is the same. No complaints though, still super quiet.
