Is there any chance of bricking my phone if I do this? Thanks for any help!

Probably worth waiting to see what the deb guys say.
I was tempted, but why possibly risk bricking your phone.... Shouldn't take them long.

I've upgraded my 1st gen JB iphone from 2.1 to 2.2, with no problems.
The jailbreak apps don't work anymore, but I only had 1 app anyway !
Unlock is still fine. I'm running on Orange in the UK.

I swear almost no one has bricked their phones from doing a jailbreak and upgrade.

The only time that even happened was with the first update after jailbreaking and unlocking had first been discovered. Didn't they just get functionality back later, anyway?
People are paranoid about it now: IT CAN'T REALLY HAPPEN ANYMORE.
Unless you're a complete moron and reformat the chip as NTFS. :p

There shouldn't be any problems. Just make sure to click "Upgrade" not "Restore" to get to 2.2.

Pretty confident that my 2.1 to 2.2 was not going to be a problem. Restore and Update took about 20 minutes. No surprises, though I miss my JB apps...:(
