A friend of mine who has a WhiteBook 2.16GHz model has recently been suffering from a slow Airport connection ever since they got a new internet/tv package from Virgin

Everyone else (using PCs) can connect fine on the network but her macbook crawls...a lot. So its unlikely to be Virgin's fault right?

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I was thinking of trashing the airport/network interfaces/network identification preference files, flushing the keychain, doing an SMC/PRAM reset and turning off IPV6

However i'm open to any other suggestions

could be a faulty airport card in the macbook

but if the PCs are using vista then its brute force like wireless connections also kick the macbook out of the network or slow it down

I had the same problem and I used DiskWarrior to de-frag my HD. After that, my Airport worked like a charm!
