I'd like to take advantage of the Live.com eBay offer. The purchase would be a 1.86MBA with SSD. Having already owned a MBA I would really prefer to future-proof with 4GB RAM (it is soldered remember).

I think it's reasonable to expect 4GB in January. Your thoughts?

Is there a timetable for Live.com promotion?

I think it's reasonable to assume that Apple will leave it alone for another seven months before doing another upgrade of any sort whatsoever.

I think it's doubtful they'll go to a standard complement of 4GB on any of their notebooks by January, let alone the Macbook Air...

Live.com itself is indefinite, but there hasn't been, as far as I know, any promise that any of the specific incentives like the 25% on eBay or the 20% you mention lasting for any definite amount of time... AFAIK they are subject to disappearing at any time without notice.
