When I got my "entertainment system (tv/dvd/reciever/vcr/...etc.etc)" I got this remote

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1051806137537&skuId=4504147&type=product

I highly recomend it. it controls everything for me. The place came with a wall airconditioner that works off of a remote, this remote is really easy to set up, you just set it up to capture the signal, point the remotes at each other, and click the button you want it to save. so i have my tv, vcr, dvd player, tivo, receiver, ac, and my newest thing, my remote control lighting, all on the same remote. (the normal like 10 remotes i'd have otherwise aren't necessary now. )

Recently I got a lutron wall dimmer. I have one of those switches that turns on a certain outlet, so i have my lamp hooked up to that, and you just replace the switch with the rf dimmer, and it can now be controlled by the remote.

and yeah it's lazy, but i gotta say it is damn convenient, and if you got the money (the remote was $200, and the dimmer was only like $60, i recommend those things to EVERYONE :)

That's a great remote, jer2665. I have the 2100 version and will definitely update when I revamp my home theater setup.
