I'll be converting some old LPs to digital so I can burn them and/or load them in iTunes. Amadeus 2, is one of several sound editors that will let me separate tracks, filter and save. Can I use GB as an Amadeus substitute?

Also, can I use GB (or iMovie) to dub a DVD audio segment to iTunes?

Thanks.

GarageBand is not designed to separate imported music into its individual tracks.

1. Toast with Jam by Roxio is precisely what you need, there are other programs but not as good, simple and popular.

2. After you capture an Audio segment from any source, you can use any Sound editing application to edit it. It depends on the program as to how much you can do and how well.
Apple's Soundtrack separately and as part of FinalCut Pro4 is perfect, but not cheap unless you already own it or FCP4.

What's really good is that you already have excellent Mac hardware for what you want to do.

Have fun editing ;)
