RipIt produces a file with the extension of .dvdmedia (actually a package containing a standard video_ts folder structure). It is registered with dvdplayer, which plays it just fine. However, Front Row doesn't recognize these files, even though it recognizes video_ts folders just fine. Plex does recognize the files and plays them, but not very well (at least on my Macbook). I have an :apple:TV now for my living room but am getting extremely frustrated with it, and would really like to use the .dvdmedia files directly. What else recognizes this format? Can it be easily changed to just a video_ts folder and what would I be losing in the translation?

appletv does not recognize iso files so you need to convert them. Use handbrake...thats what i use

Just extract the VIDEO_TS folder from the .dvdmedia file. Right Click--->Show Package Contents. Just copy the folder inside.
