Limited windows activations

I have used my 6 activations trying to load 64 bit xp then upgrading to vista but vista never worked and I just want to use xp but now I can't activate it because of a preset limit. Will they give me another serial if I ask? I used previous activations ok my old comps also.

yep.
what theyll do is give you a new Activation ID.
windows has its own Serial Key for the OS itself, but also an activation key/string soley for that installation and hardware set up currently with the computer it is installed on.

(and im not sure why it needs to be reactivated so many times if youre installing it on the same machine without changing any hardware)


but there really is no limit as long as its used on just one machine at a time.
