On HackThatPhone there's a guide that tells you where all the images are located. Not sure if the background is in there though.

If I recall, there is no background image. It's just black, and you would have to use Winterboard to cover it.

As an avid SSH themer... This is correct. There is no image. To change this you must use some kind of MobileSubstrate plugin. If you don't want WinterBoard there are a couple options like BossPaper and there is something called Springboard Background or wallpaper settings that basically just enables you to set one from the default settings app without winterboard or bosspaper (it's a mobilesubstrate plugin on it's own I believe)

This is a heavily modded theme, u can't download it off cydia install it and *poof* icons get colorful. There is a lot of customization to be done using Springjumps and iBlanks... which also includes a painful process of adjusting over 60 blank invisible icons, setting up 20 springjump icons, and other iphone icons in order and in place. Though its involves a lot of work, but its not tough.. only u need to have a lot of patience. Its available on MacThemes2, the way everybody got to make it work was first by setting up Whitoken Theme, here is the link to set up that theme (Credits to ~6mik-design)

Lockscreen too. I dont know much about lockscreen customization since I use WB...but im sure its the same process. I think winterboard is just your easiest bet here.

WOW! That theme is 58mb? That's a little crazy... Most themes are barely 1mb! I thought that was cool but I'm not going to have a 58mb theme running in my MobileSubstrate. :p

It's probably because high res images are just being shrunk down when rendered. They should be properly resized and have the thumbnails removed to cut down on file size.

I appreciate the upload but I can't get it to say anything other than "Middletown" for the weather. I edited the .js file and configured it for both Apple and Yahoo and neither changed what was displayed. None of the lockinfo items showed up for me either...

It helped me out. /root/library/themes/ just put the HTC Lockstyle Gruppled into the themes folder

as far as the weather locations edit configureMe.js & config.js in textedit and change my zipcode to your zipcode.
configureMe.js has the main weather and config.js has the other 2 weathers in the bars.

You have to manually paste the files from the theme folder to their proper locations.

Since this is based off of gruppled, you can see some explanation in my thread about LockInfo without Winterboard. Just ignore the whole install stuff and worry about where I say to paste the Theme files.

Sorry, I have no idea how to do it without WinterBoard; why don't you use WinterBoard? It's a lot easier.

3. Edit (configureMe.js) & (config.js) files to add your local weather, just put in your zipcode.
4. SSH the theme to your iPhone
5. Enable through WinterBoard
6. Have fun

I did not make or create this theme, credits to (LEXS1411). All I did was change the clock from 24 hour to 12 hour, temperature to Fahrenheit and rebuilt the .psd file so you can change the wallpaper of the lock screen, which I included in the the download.

The upper portion with the big clock and weather seem very dim compared to the bottom half. Is this normal?

Ahh, now I understand what you guys mean. I had this problem before.

Go into Settings > Lockinfo and both of the transparency sliders all the way to the bottom. It should fix the problem.

Not new to Jailbraking but new to creating my own themes, basically just some pictures and using Glass and Illumine theme....My slide to unlock and sleep sounds are windows start up and shut down. My favorite is I recorded myself saying "click" so when I type its me "clicking" :D

I appreciate the upload but I can't get it to say anything other than "Middletown" for the weather. I edited the .js file and configured it for both Apple and Yahoo and neither changed what was displayed. None of the lockinfo items showed up for me either...


This download stops at 20% in then says the file is corrupted...Anyone else seeing this?

Also anybody can throw some light as to why it is 58mb for a lockscreen theme? arent they usually under 10mb :confused:

You need to rearrange the order so that the No Docked Icon Lables is above your theme.

I can't actually help you how to accomplish this; however, if you download the iglasklart theme via cydia that theme has the top bar completely transparent on both the lockscreen and all other screens. You could SSH into your phone once that theme has been downloaded and poke around that theme and see what they did to make it transparent. I've thrown some themes together for my own and I used that theme as my base because of its functionality.

The status bar is just another picture like the dock is. If you SSH in, extract the status bar (there are actually 3-4 for different applications/colors) for the lock screen, make it transparent with photoshop and reupload it I think it would work, no?

I would use those awesome lockscreens, but once I use my iPhone, lock it, and turn on the lockscreen, everything lockscreen related will have to reload itself.

Man, there are some bad ass themes out there, especially the lockscreen ones, but those always reload when I sleep for a little and turn it back on. And those other themes always make things extremely slow (since I'm on a 3G, and not a 3GS).

Hi, can you please post your wallpaper? (The one which has the clock and that background?). I tried to merge it myself with Photoshop but it didn't turn out well.

One thing I have yet to figure out is how to get back to the 'Slide to Unlock' bar. I have Glass Orb theme but I try and set the following line in Settings.js:

With that I still get the slide bar seen here to unlock. There seems to be some sort of theme I have installed?

If you have photoshop. The first image I posted is a .png file that is a clear background. Just paste that on top of whatever wallpaper you want. I am sure you an use almost any image editor.

I'm new here and have an iphone 3gs. I have messed around with jail breaking before and i am also fairly good with computers. However, I have never seen a guide that explains how to SSH your iPhone, or go into terminal or whatever is needed to change and add these features. If anyone can point me in the right direction with a link or a tutorial that would be greatly appreciated. I searched a little on the forum, maybe I skipped it and I also found a few links on google, but they were over a year old hah. Thanks guys!

Ahhh, been fooling around with lockscreen themes as I'm pretty happy with the basic app layout of the homescreen. Loved the Weather Elements HD theme and wanted to post in the original thread on a different forum but they didn't accept anymore registrations. Anyways, firstly, I'm not that in the know in the technical world, I just keep fooling around until I get where I want, I see alot of people having problems with themes and everything playing together, and I had plenty of stuff ups with my set up but finally I prevailed! I changed a few things in the Weather Elements HD to be able to see the statusnotifier details easier, and i love how simple and yet fully featured it is! Everything I basically need. Its a combination of the Weather Elements HD theme playing with status notifier and using the icons which come in weather elements HD and then the grupple lockscreen theme overlaying it! I think its awesome! OK enough talk heres pics!!

Do you guys have any suggestions for good guides or resources to learn some basics of the new skinning process? I'd love to read through all 80 pages of this thread...but I'm hoping there is an easier, and slightly more efficient way of figuring it out. Hopefully someone out there knows a good place to start doing some research.

It's going to change so much depending on what you're actually trying to do. Best bet is going to be PM whoever posted a screenshot that looks like something you want to try. Then they could either PM back to you how to do it or where they found out how.

I started modding about 2 years ago and didn't have a clue about SSH and modifying files. All I can suggest is that you ask specific questions and if you cannot find them try pm'ing the person and/or googling.

If anyone has a specific question they can post them here and a number of knowledgeable people can help them out.

Hey, I added an icon set for the weather icons that are in the upper portion of the lockscreen. The icons all seem to be distorted by the coding or something. Is there any sort of dimensions that the icons must be set to prior to adding them to the file? I noticed that the default icon set has 175 x 120 icons. Thank you.

Need a little help. I thought I would try something a little more advanced, I was checking out how to vids on youtube, I came across a very nice lock screen weather widget. I followed the directions to a T, it's even in winterboard but its not active.. I have the Carbon Ovation Black theme active and I placed the widget above it.. What did I do wrong? Here is the vid.

There are 3 ways of accessing your device's file system on Windows:
1) Total Commander w/the T-PoT plugin (both free).
2) DiskAid (not free)
3) iPhoneBrowser

I like the first one the best, but iPhoneBrowser may be a more user-friendly option. I use DiskAid in OS X (my only option) and I like it, but again, it's not free.

I think it's the Cydget weather widget, but it was taken off Cydia due to some infringement issues I believe.

Been using this for a while, haven't had time to fiddle with it very much. Background is an original creation; folder icons are stolen from the Categories app, but are actually Springjumps shortcuts. Date and weather is custom assembled from other downloaded themes. 5-icon dock, dock reflections, etc.

Fairly simple, but I'm happy with it.
