Chapter recognition for home movies

I create a LOT of home movies using FCE. I generally export the full quality QT movie, and then us it for multiple purposes, including creating an ATV version. Am I missing something here, or is there no way to include chapter markers when converting a HOME movie to ATV format? If I'm ripping a DVD using handbrake using the ATV settings, chapters are of course available. However, when a home movie is made, then exported for use with ATV, chapters are lost.

Any way to fix this short of making a DVD out of my home movie, then ripping back again?
