Just downloaded this First Person Shooter widget and is really fun. Anyone else play it yet? Just searched it and it came up with no hits on this site.

I just got done hosting a game and used my other mouse (Can't use a one button mouse in this game! LOL) and everyone kept blasting me with the rocket launcher while I kept sniping everyone in the head from half way across the map and I won, yippie!

Hello,

Thanks for the feedback. PP originally was an internal tech demo for testing our networked physics solution, it was quite fun, so we turned it into a FaceBook app and a dashboard widget.

We'll launch a new site soon, with a PC and Mac download, and also some new features / bug fixes. Stay tuned :)

Thanks for that awesome and fun little game. Yeah I do notice little bugs that's fine and reasonable for a free game. How long has this been out because I just saw it yesterday? Also thanks for signing up to MR to comment.

I just got done hosting a game and used my other mouse (Can't use a one button mouse in this game! LOL)
btw. undocumented feature: hold down 'C' to enter sniper mode. Happy one-button-mouse-blasting!

How long has this been out because I just saw it yesterday?
It was released on Apple last Saturday. We passed 100k downloads today.

No problem - it's great to hear people like the game. There's a few late nights and annoyed girlfriends behind this. Oh well :)

Two bugs I am having.
1) Using a logitech mx revolution, it only responds when I hold down the fire(left mouse) button. So I can't aim unless I am firing.
This is fixed when I go fullscreen, but creates the next bug.
2) When in fullscreen there is a sound made for holding down keys, such as 'w'. It is repeated every quarter second or so, because it thinks I am hitting a key that is not valid. Or something. It makes the "You can't do that right now" sound. :apple:

Is it laggy with anyone else? I was getting 2-8 fps all the time and it is unplayable :(.

Yeah it can unfortunately get very choppy and laggy when playing with others. I can play on highest settings with 30+ FPS though [:(] Wish I could get that when playing with others. I just got done playing a game and got 26 kills lol 1st place. The game is obviously more fun with 5+ people but way too much lag and choppy frame rates brings the fun down a little.

Yeah I like the Moses pill where you can walk on water :D You should automatically respawn though :confused: I don't remember pressing anything, it just automatically respawns you.

No, i know that there is a way to respawn at will. I just don't know how. I've been trying to figure out. Some pills I can't figure out what they are good for.

Wow, I never knew Dashboard can do widgets this sophisticated!

Clearly there is a LOT of untapped potential with the Dashboard, I just wish it's a bit more popular so more people would develop for it.

I, too, am having trouble with a network connection with the widget. It keeps getting an error testing my internet connection so I couldn't play multiplayer. Anyone else?

Wow I haven't played this game in such a long time. Mainly because I haven't had a Mac. I can try on my iBook G4 really quick to see if I have any problems. It could just be the widget or the recent update?

Not working for me either, maybe their servers or are down or something?

They used Unity (http://unity3d.com/) and the web player (http://unity3d.com/unity-web-player-2.x.html). This isn't anything OS X specific really.

Still shows a lot of possibilities because you didn't even have to install the plugin to play in the widget.

After many nights of coding, we've come up with a new version of Paradise Paintball. Our players found bugs we never even knew could exist (and there were a lot!) and we've added a load of new features. Hope you guys like it.

I usually don't get into online multiplayer gaming, but PP is fun! The Hills of Eden level makes it even nicer-- full flight and a "loft in the sky" for relaxing and chatting with others without leaving the game or getting ambushed.

I haven't fully registered an account yet, but I just may this week.

I just googled "Paradise Paintball" and a link to this thread was at the top of the list! I'm DL'ing the newer version now to try it out.

Little update:

It's kinda laggy on my G4 1.33 Powerbook but I think it's also from lack of memory, I only got 512mb. I average 10-15fps while playing alone. I also can't seem to edit my name or sign in, I type but nothing shows up?

I do have one suggestion though.
I think it would be cool to actually shoot Paintballs and they affect the environment and you can "paint" your targets or pictures/words for everyone to see :D. I think it would be pretty cool as each person gets their own color and you can see exactly who has shot who and who ganged up on each other. That's just my thought/suggestion. I don't know how easily that would be to implement into the game.

Great game though and I still enjoy it.
