DVD Player not reading dvds?!

Last night, I was watching a dvd, everything was fine. Today, I come home to my Macbook, untouched from the night before, and attempt to put a dvd in. The drive takes it, starts spinning and moving the laser, then it spits the dvd out!

The disc is unscratched and the problem occurs with other disc.

I can't seem to find a solution for this. Please help!

Did you try another DVD? restarting?

I have the same problem, Its been like this for about 2 weeks now.

One night it just stopped reading the disks. Makes a few weird noises then spits it out !!

Im extremely sad.

The laser must be ********* .??????
