HD content from directtv - where to start

Ok, so I've done some research on this, but I'm still confused. if someone could point me in the right direction, or tell me there is no way, i'd appreciate it.

I have Directtv in HD and want to get the programs on my Mac in HD. Right now I record stuff on DVD (not HD) and then import into my mac. Not the quickest (or in HD) method.

All the Elgato products say they won't work with Directtv HD. I don't need a product to change channels or anything on the Directtv box. I just want to take the output of the box (HDMI, Coax, etc) and get it into my Computer.

Do I have any options?
Please point me in the right direction.

There still is no digital video extraction for the current DTV HD-DVRs.

You could perhaps use a Hauppaugue HD-PVR (http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hdpvr.html)? Capture HD over the component outputs, with some Digital->Analog->Digital recoding loss. I've been thinking about buying one myself.
