Does the old (white) MacBook support the 24-inch LED ACD?

I know there's no DisplayPort, but would it work with an adapter from Mini-DVI to DisplayPort?

True long answer: That adapter won't make it work. That adapter is for the new notebooks to connect to the 30" Cinema Display only.

There are no adapters existing or planned that will let you use that MacBook with the LED Cinema Display.
