Itunes won't recognize iphone - HELP!!!!

I was downloading the new iphone software and it was just about to re-activate the phone and windows crashed. Now I can't get itunes to recognize the iphone at all and I can't figure out how to activate the iphone. It is locked and just gets the Emergency Call screen. I am going to try unloading itunes and reloading it. Does anyone have any other advice?

Does itunes say that it wont recognize the phone?
