I have just received a Dr Bott extendAIR omni, external antenna to use with my Airport extreme base station.

Unfortunately, all is not well! The signal (measured at various points throughout my house using MacStumbler) is LOWER when the antenna is attached.

BTW, each time I plugged/unplugged the aerial I rebooted the base station either by pulling the power or through Airport Admin Utility.

Does anyone have any good/bad experiences with this product?

Are there any other similarly priced alternatives?

Mine works great. I can get signal all through my house, which I couldn't before, and I can get signal way out into my yard, at least 50 feet away from my house, depending on which side of the house I am on, and I couldn't do this before either. Send it back and get another one because mine seems to work as advertised.
