Our stupid school isn't nice enough to have public WiFi (though I may find out the password soon...) and our town is stupid enough to not have any 3G (Canada for 'ya).

Is it unbearably slow if I tether my iPhone 3G to my MacBook and use an EDGE connection? How long would the average page take? How long would I be able to tether with a full iPhone charge?

CAN you tether the iPhone in Canada? You can't here, but I can't imagine that it'd be very fast.

Think wireless dial-up (which we dealt with for a while) and that should be fairly close.

Why couldn't you? I imagine you can via PdaNet (jailbroken iPhone) and an unlimited data plan, right?

And wireless dial-up. Hmm, I never experienced that, heh. A bit more specific please? :D

Think 5KB/s without the eeeeeeeeeeeeurrrrrrrrrrrrrrgherkaderkhada brrrrrrrrrrrrshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhblaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... and all that start-up jazz.:p
