hey everybody im new to the forum but not to macs I have an IMAC G5 at home and i recently purchased an iPhone 3G

I was wondering if there was a way to change the sms bubble colors for each contact. I know theres a way to change them which applies to each person but i was wondering if you could do it per person/contact

any help would be appreciated

Unless I missed something, there is no way to change the SMS bubble colors at all on a stock iPhone. You can do it with jailbreaking, however.

really cause i thought i read on this forum that you have to go into a certain file and change the bubble code it could have been another forum tho

Hmm when I jailbroke my old iPhone (a few months ago), it was the Customize app. I don't know if that's still around though.

You can do it with customize still, I believe, as uiop. said. You can also do it with winterboard and several other apps. If you go to the hacks forum and search 'sms color' you'll find some good threads (easier than trying to type them all out :p)

I am using an alternative App. called BeeJive and you can change bubble colors and a few other things in "Settings". Check it out. I used it on my now retired BB.

You need to jailbreak it.

yea thats how youd do it
however, access to that file can only be attained AFTER a jailbreak

and winterboard is a much easier way to change this anyway (also jailbreak only)
