Do not download and install anything on your Mac or iPod Touch from an unknown source and a forum newcomer unless this is verified.

Is it just me or did anyone else notice that quickpwn's website (http://www.quickpwn.com/) says that the jailbreak for 2.2 has been out since 11/22? Did this slip by everyone on MR or did I just miss something?
EDIT-nevermind, after further reading on the website it says the current jailbreak for 2.2 works on everything but 2nd Gen iPod Touch.

If this jailbreak works (and I'm not willing to be the guinea pig here!), does that mean I could load hundreds of apps I got (most free) from the App Store onto my touch and manage them in the ways one should expect from a PDA (categorizing or putting them into folders, sorting, etc.)?

I guess we won't be seeing you for a while. Go forth guinea pig and find out why you shouldn't trust everything you read on the internet.

Yes you can, I believe the jailbroken app that helps out for that is called Categories. It will make folders and you can add whatever you want in those folders.

What's the worse that could happen trying this? I have a new, not used 2nd gen I don't use cause I can't jailbreak it. I'll be the guinea pig.

I'm not going to be one of the first people to download this.
For the people that are, let us know how it goes.

Well, you could end up installing a trojan on your computer and your bank account could get emptied...

The 'quickpwn website' is just some dude that got lucky and purchased that domain(and is making money off the name). . .nothing more. . .nothing less.
All he does is regurgitate information for people dumb enough to type in quickpwn.com to look for a jailbreak.

watch the youtube video? all the video is is a bunch of text there was no proof of concept, if you have a 2nd gen iPod touch DO NOT download this it will not work, the whole purpose of quickpwn is to take advantage of a hardware exploit in the 1st gen ipod touch which the newer iPod DOESN'T have.
as already said if you download the files you could open your pc to a trojan and enable a hacker to monitor and access your pc

How hard is it for this guy to have like 3 accs on YouTube and post 3 comments. Also he could just make his friends comment aswell.
If it is true then good find but PLEASE i urge you to just wait and get something official, or your touch is at risk.

Yes, I tried it. It did not work. It crashed several times during the install. Once it got to about 98% and froze. Each time I had to restore the device back to factory defaults. So....NO it does not work. Atleast for me that is. Oh well, back in the box. Gen1 out to play.

Hi all,
I sent my 32GB Ipod touch to someone, he jailbroke it, it worked, but the problem is, every time it rans out of battery or I turn it off with the power button (holding it for 5 sec) it won't turn back on again, until it is jailbroked again.
So don't do it.
