Took the SIM card out of my iPhone 3G, now stuck on EDGE

I've tried everything, from taking the SIM card out and in again and switching 3G on and off, but I'm still stuck on EDGE. I've done a full restore also. Also, It's taking over twice as long to search for a signal, and my normal 5 bars when my 3G worked is now going from 1 to 2. Any suggestions?
 
Well, the signal could of dropped in your location. Did you try going to a different location and see if 3G would appear?

If you did a restore, then it is probably a hardware issue then. Call 1-800-MYAPPLE and set up a genius appointment at your nearest Apple store.
