i need a firmware update for an Onstream Echo FW30 tape drive, it won't work with retrospect 6.0 and Onstream is out of biz. Is there a place that "banks" old firmware updates, where i might search for one? Google & Teoma searches have been fruitless.
thanks

Depends if it's the case or the tape drive that needs the firmware update.
The case is probably an old Oxford chipset, so you may be able to hack another vendors updater (or it'll work) -- probably standard logic board stuffed into a custom case/powersupply.
If it's the tape drive itself, you may need to look up the manufacturer to see if there is an update (might be PC only).

Of course some of the old FW cases plain cause problems that putting the things directly in a computer may solve.

But www.xlr8yourmac.com might actually have a report on the device in their database.

please note in my original post:
1) manufacturer is out of business. is no longer available to provide software updates.
2) google and teoma yielded no useful results, only a 3-yr-old inquiry about the drive.
i appreciate the effort to help. given the circumstances, any other ideas?
thanks

It looks like you'll have to fiddle around with it a little, you might have to plug it into a PC. Here's a link to the firmware page:
